Super Plate
Water Cold Plates for High-Performance Thermal Management
Super Plate is the line of liquid cooling cold plates designed and manufactured by Pada Engineering.
Developed for applications where traditional air cooling is no longer sufficient, Super Plate technology ensures high heat dissipation capacity for electronic components subject to extreme power densities and space constraints.
Liquid Cooling Engineering: Advantages of the Super Plate Line
- High Thermal Efficiency: The use of a liquid coolant (typically water/glycol) allows for significantly higher heat dissipation compared to air solutions, reducing operating temperatures and keeping them more uniform.
- Custom Design and Internal Channels: The internal fluid circuits of Super Plate cold plates are engineered to optimize fluid dynamics, reducing pressure drops and maximizing heat transfer in areas with higher power density.
- Reliability: Manufactured from high-grade aluminum alloys and leak-tested with nitrogen, they ensure maximum operational reliability.
- Compact Mechanical Integration: Allows cooling multiple power modules (IGBT, SiC, GaN) on a single compact plate, reducing overall system footprint.

PRESSED TUBES
SuperPlate is normally used with water (glycol addition if necessary) as cooling fluid.
DEEP DRILLING
Through holes technology has to be used if components under voltage are mounted on the plate.
Friction Stir Welding (FSW)
Plate with machined channels and welded cover. A new system developed to improve the temperature distribution on the surface of the plate beneath the electronic components.
Vacuum Brazed
The advantages of vacuum brazing include uniform heating, precise temperature control, no need for subsequent cleaning processes, and process repeatability.
Technical Problems Solved
When to switch to Super Plate liquid cooling?
The Super Plate series by Pada Engineering is the ideal engineering response for designers facing critical challenges such as:
- High heat peaks in compact spaces: Hotspot management on concentrated power modules.
- High-temperature or sealed working environments: Effective dissipation even in closed electrical cabinets (IP65/IP67) or harsh industrial settings lacking air recirculation.
- Noise and power consumption reduction: Elimination or drastic reduction of high-flow fans with high acoustic and energy impact.
- Transition to E-Mobility: Cooling of electric traction systems, converters, and fast-charging stations (Fast Chargers).
Target Application Sectors
Super Plate water cold plates are widely used across high-tech markets:
- Automotive & E-Mobility: Inverters for electric/hybrid vehicles, battery packs, and high-power charging infrastructures (Ultra-Fast Chargers).
- Renewable Energy & Grid Storage: Large-scale PV inverters, wind power converters, and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System).
- Rail & Marine Traction: Power converters for trains, trams, ships, and onboard equipment.
- Industrial Electronics & Lasers: High-power power supplies, industrial drives, medical and industrial lasers.
